Nina Hagen, born on March 11, 1955, in East Berlin, Germany, is a pioneering figure in the realm of punk rock and new wave music. Renowned for her distinctive voice, eclectic style, and fearless attitude, she has left an indelible mark on the music industry.
Hagen’s musical career took flight in the late 1970s, when she burst onto the scene with her debut album “Nina Hagen Band” (1978), which featured hits like “TV-Glotzer” and “Auf’m Bahnhof Zoo.” Her wild stage presence, theatrical performances, and unconventional fashion sense quickly garnered attention, earning her the title of “Godmother of Punk.”
