Bill Evans, born William John Evans on August 16, 1929, in Plainfield, New Jersey, was a legendary jazz pianist and composer whose profound musical contributions continue to influence generations of musicians and listeners alike. Renowned for his lyrical improvisations, harmonic innovations, and sensitive touch, Evans is widely regarded as one of the most influential pianists in the history of jazz.
Evans’ career took flight in the late 1950s when he joined the Miles Davis Sextet, contributing to the groundbreaking album “Kind of Blue” (1959), which remains one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time.
